Hamam-pyyhkeemme on kudottu parhaasta puuvillasta käsin Etelä-Turkin alueella, missä niiden tuottamisella on monen sukupolven perinteet. Hamam-pyyhkeitä kutsutaan Turkissa nimillä peshtemal tai fouta. Niitä on käytetty vuosisatojen ajan perinteisesti turkkilaisissa kylpylöissä eli hamameissa, mutta ovat nykyään suosittuja eri käyttötarkoituksissa.
Pyyhkeet ovat monikäyttöisiä ja mahtuvat pieneen tilaan. Kudontansa ansiosta ne kuivuvat nopeasti, ovat imukykyisiä ja helposti pestäviä. Ne sopivat hyvin matkalaukkuun, treenikassiin, uintiretkelle, viltiksi lastenrattaisiin tai moottoripyörämatkalle. Pyyhkeet ovat täydellisiä saunaan ja kylpylään sekä kauniiden väriensä puolesta niin kylpyhuoneeseen, kuin rannalle. Hiekka ei tartu niihin, kuten froteepyyhkeeseen. Sisustuksessa ne toimivat pöytäliinana ja torkkupeittona. Ne näyttävät kauniilta myös asusteena, kuten huivina tai shaalina.
Pyyhkeen voi pestä 40-60 asteessa. Pestessä ne pehmenevät ja tulevat jokaisen pesun jälkeen imukykyisemmäksi.

Hand loomed Hamam Towels also called Peshtemal or Fouta
Our Turkish bath (hammam) towels are hand-woven in the region in southern Turkey. All steps in the manufacturing is done by hand with the best quality cotton. The towels have been manufactured for many generations and they have many advantages. They take up little space in your suitcase, gym bag, swimming bag, stroller or on a motorbike holiday. The towels dry quickly and have good absorbency. You easily wrap your hair or body after a shower. The sand will not stick on the beach and they are easy to wash up in the hotel room. The towel suites perfect in the sauna or spa and with their nice colors they are perfect to use at the beach as well as ordinary towel in the bathroom. The towels can also be used as a table cloth or as a decorative blanket on the bed but works also great as a warming blanket. Many also use the towel as a scarf / shawl.
The towel can be washed at 40-60degrees. It gets softer after each wash. The Turkish name is Peshtemal or Fouta and has traditionally been used in Turkish bath (hamam), but has recently become very popular for many other purposes.
TURKISH BATH AND SAUNA
The Turkish bath known locally as the Hamam, is one of the ancient world’s most widely exported customs. The tradition of the Turkish bath was born generations ago, adopted from Romans and Byzantines then perfected by the Seljuk and Ottoman Turks. The tradition continues right up to this very day!
What happens in a Hamam?
Well, the ritual is simple. You will be provided with a Pestemal (a large thin cotton striped or checked towel which is usually wrapped around the chest) and you will enter into the hammam’s core Sicaklik (hot room). To feel more comfortable we suggest our guests wear their bathing suits as well.
Sicaklik (also known as Hararet), is a room with a heigh ceiling where the sound of splashing water, the scent of soap, and wafting steam leaves daily concerns and worries behind. In the gentle moist heat your body relaxes, your nerves are soothed, and your skin becomes supple. You sit down at one of the marble wash basins which line the walls, and adjusting the temperature of the water to a delicious warmth, dip the copper bathing bowl into the basin and tip the water over your head and body. Waves of relaxation will seem to pour right through you as the water ripples down.
If you purchase the peeling & soap massage, which is known as «Kese » in Turkish Bath culture, your attendant will come to you when your skin has become the right temperature to begin a rejuvenating peel that will discard the rough dead cells on your skin's surface. The attendent will pour water on you and then lightly but effectively scrub every inch of your body so that every bit of dark, dead and dirty skin is scrubbed off with the special «Kese» scrub.
After the dead skin has been washed off you will be lathered with liquid soap and shampoo. You will be lightly rubbed with the soap bubbles and cleaned. Finally with one last wash of the soap from your body you will be ready to leave the Sicaklik. Your attendant will provide you with fresh towels and you will be brought to the Relaxation room to rest, dry off and socialize with other guests who have also completed the ancient ritual.
After you’ve rested for as long as you please, you may opt to get a massage.
